“During the EGEC course, I visited many European countries and studied with 11 international students of different nationalities. This provided me with insight into synergism and international communication. I have advanced my ability to communicate proficiently on academic, personal and industrial levels. This has also been an excellent opportunity to experience many different cultures, including Indonesian, Chinese, German, English, Polish, Hungarian, Belgian, and Vietnamese. One of the big advantages of the course was the number of fruitful excursions we had, which gave me an insight into the practical application of what we had studied. Also, there was a wonderful connection that formed among us during all of our travels. Sociability became one of my greatest assets which I practiced during the first year quite a lot, and I am very happy that I could link myself to many companies, universities and find many new, nice friends as well. I found out that neither religion nor nationality affects friendship and collaboration, but rather this diversity makes the situation much better and interesting for learning. In conclusion, I would like to thank all my professors, as I have learned a lot from all of them through the entire EGEC course.”

“For me this course was the best choice I could make in my live. The experience I have gained cannot be compared with studying inone place. During this year I have broadened my geotechnical and environmental knowledge on a very good level. Furthermore, being in a group with people from all over the world helped me to learn and understand other cultures and habits, and also how to cooperate and live together, combining work and pleasure. All of the places we visited had specific character and there was always something interesting to see and visit. For young people who are hungry for new experiences I can only recommend to join such a programme and try on your own how to be an EGEC student.”
-Mateusz Janiszewski- Wroclaw University of Technology-
“EGEC course indeed is an excellent and well-arranged programme with good connection between 5 different universities in 5 different countries. This course is not only with intensive courses and timetable for our studying, but also included many excursions to visit different companies in our related studies which provided more practical learning rather than theoretical lessons. To those who are interested in this course, it is better to have a good background in Rock Mechanics and Geophysics and this course will surely become an unforgettable memory in your life. Because EGEC is not only a studying programme but also this course itself is full of life experiences. It is full of travelling, understanding the different cultures and languages with a very nice group together. In this year, we had 12 students from 9 different nationalities. We have become very nice friend, had many good time and nice memories together.”
-Choo Yong Fern (Jasper) – EMMEP (Malaysia)-
“This program is a very good possibility to study, traveling and meeting interesting people. In this nine month the peoples can observe different educational system and different way of thinking. Traveling with the same group give a very good background during the program and with the different group members you can understand of working within a multicultural group. The excursions gave better understanding for the subjects and the real work. I would like to thank FEMP and the industry partners for making all of this possible.”
