TERRA Project
Tertiary Education in Sustainable Resource Extraction
Expert networkThe TERRA project will found an Academic Expert Network.
This network aims to connect key members of European mineral resources and mining education. Beside the TERRA consortium, consisting of RWTH Aachen, MU Leoben and Aalto University, other relevant parties dedicated to current challenges in the mining industry will be invited. In the future it is intended to open the network and offer all interested parties the possibility to join the network. |
DatabaseThe TERRA project aims to attract qualified future decision-makers for the European mineral resources industry.
Key of every young person’s decision about their future career path is a sound information basis. Thus, a comprehensive database for students that provides information on career and training opportunities throughout Europe will be established and published here soon. |
ConferenceThe TERRA conference, aims to bring together mining researchers and teachers from Europe to share our achievements, challenges, and aspirations, and to allow networking among European mining academics.
Europe’s raw materials sector needs 1.2 million jobs by 2030, but already faces serious skill shortages. The TERRA conference will address this challenge and how the European university sector engages with students and society, offers educational programs, educates professionals, and pursues research and innovations. The conference program will include keynote presenters, panel discussions as well as presentations on funding opportunities for teaching and research collaborations.
